The Tehri Acro Festival 2023 will see the participation of more than 35 international pilots and 150 Indian pilots.

One of the go-to states in India is Uttarakhand when it comes to travelling, be it for a weekend getaway, summer vacation or to reconnect with nature. The state is also making attempts to keep up with tourists and hence it has been introducing many travel-related projects to attract crowd. You can enjoy a good trek, follow the nature trails and witness some picturesque landscapes worth capturing.

In April 2023, to further boost the economy of the state, the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) included Jadung as its newest tourist destination. Jadung is an ancient border village that is located quite close to the Tiber border. This place is being developed into a sustainable tourism hub that will offer activities like Astro-tourism, hiking, trekking and nature camps amongst many others to its tourists. Now, in November, the state will host the Tehri Acro Festival 2023. It is India’s first international aerial acrobatic show.

The Tehri Acro Festival 2023 will kickstart on November 24 and will conclude on November 28. More than 35 international pilots and 150 Indian pilots will be participating to compete in this thrilling adrenaline-rushing event. As per reports, the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) is all set to make Tehri the paragliding capital of the world. The event will see many other daring adventures like Acro Flying, Syncro Flying, Wing Suit Flying, D-Bagging and much more.

The official account of Uttarakhand Tourism also posted a video on Instagram which has already generated much hype for the upcoming event. The caption reads, “Experience the breathtaking Tehri Acro Festival, a gathering of over 150 awe-inspiring aerial acrobats, set to take place from 24-28 Nov, 2023. Prepare to be spellbound as these talented performers showcase their remarkable skills, sheer strength, and artistic finesse. This extraordinary event promises an electrifying atmosphere that will leave you utterly captivated. Don’t let this sensational opportunity slip away – mark your calendars and be a part of this unforgettable extravaganza.”

The nearest airport to New Tehri is the Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun. It is 86 km away but has regular flights from Delhi. The nearest railway station to the place is Rishikesh which is 72 km away. Tehri is well connected by road to cities like Haridwar, Rishikesh and Dehradun.
