UPSC 2023: Nausheen cracked the exam this year in her fourth attempt. In her first and second attempts, she could not crack mains exam and in her third attempt, she could not even crack prelims

Nausheen, a resident of Fatehpur, Gorakhpur, has cracked the civil service exams on her fourth attempt. This time, she has successfully cracked the prelims, mains, and personality test to secure All India Rank 9. A bright student since the beginning, she prepared for the civil services exam from Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy. “While preparing, I studied for 12-14 hours by making different strategies for Prelims, Mains, and Interview,” she said. Nausheen said that she wishes to help advance the backward people of the society as a civil servant.

Nausheen had passed the prelims exam in 2019 while staying at home during the Covid-19 but she was unable to crack the mains exam that year. Then, she started studying once again and took the prelims for the second time, which she passed. However, once again she could not crack the UPSC mains exams. On her third attempt, she did not even pass the prelims, after which she said she started going into depression. However her family members kept encouraging her to take the exams again, and she achieved success in the fourth attempt by securing 9th rank in the country.

Nausheen had passed the intermediate examination in Science from RAMPUS School located in Raptinagar of Gorakhpur city. After this, she went to Delhi and studied BA Honors in History from Delhi University’s Khalsa College. She started her preparations from there.

Talking to News 18, Nausheen said that her entire family has contributed to her success. The youngest among three siblings, Nausheen’s father is an engineer in Gorakhpur Akashvani, while her mother is a housewife. Her elder brother works at Union Bank of India while her sister works at LIC.

She also said that every parent should believe in their child and keep encouraging him. When Nausheen was being sent from Gorakhpur to Delhi to study, her father had full faith that one day she would be successful. Her mother said that in her childhood when she used to sit down to study, she would not remember even eating and drinking. Even when the family members went to sleep, she continued reading.
