The NEST 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on June 30 in two shifts — 9 am to 12:30 pm; and 2:30 pm to 6 pm. The results of the exam will be declared on July 10

The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2024 registration for admission to the five-year Integrated MSc programme offered by NISER Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai will commence tomorrow, March 30. The NEST 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on June 30 in two shifts — 9 am to 12:30 pm; and 2:30 pm to 6 pm. The results of the exam will be declared on July 10. The syllabus for the NEST exam will be based on the rationalised syllabus of NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks.

A total of 257 seats will be filled through the NEST 2024 scores. The exam will grant access to MSc programmes in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and the University of Mumbai, Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM–DAE CEBS), Mumbai.

NEST 2024 MSc Admission: Eligibility criteria

Candidates who fulfill the following eligibility criteria will be eligible to appear for the NEST entrance exam:

— Should have passed the Class 12 board exam from any recognised education board in India in 2022 or 2023.

— Candidates appearing for the Class 12 board exam in 2024 are also eligible.

— Students should have studied the science stream in Class 12.

— Applicants should have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in Class 12. SC, and ST students should have passed Class 12 with 55% in aggregate.

— There is no age limit for appearing in the NEST 2024 examination.

Candidates who are offered admission will be eligible to receive an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000 through the DISHA programme of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. Additionally, scholarship recipients will also receive a grant of Rs 20,000 per annum for summer internships.

Top performers at NISER and UM-DAE CEBS, as well as those securing overall grades above a certain cut-off at the end of the programme, will be eligible to appear directly for the interview for admission to the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) training school.
