1. Cotton garmentsBefore nursing firecrackers make sure that everyone in your family, especially kids wears cotton clothing. Since synthetic materials quickly catch fire, they can be quite dangerous and must be avoided.
2. Well-fitted outfitsTry to wear clothes that cover your arms and legs fully. Flowy, trailing attire has the risk of catching fire quickly. For women, wearing a dupatta, make sure that the drape is pinned properly.
3. Firecracker qualityOnly buy firecrackers from authorized manufacturers, and always read the instructions carefully before using them. High-quality firecrackers lower the possibility of accidents.
4. Emergency contactAccidents don’t come with a warning. In case of any mishap, keep the emergency contact numbers of the ambulance, doctors, and police stations handy. You can also save the numbers of your close friends and relatives in case of an emergency.
5. Fire extinguisherWhen using firecrackers, keep a fire extinguisher close by. To put out a small fire, a bucket of water or sand can also be useful.

4. ContainersYou should never put firecrackers inside glass jars or tin containers to derive the sound effect. They can lead to extremely dangerous results.
5. AnimalsAnimals get terrified by the sounds of firecrackers. Even if you do not have a pet, do not burst crackers in front of stray animals when they are nearby.
