During a press conference at the Police Headquarters in Patna on Monday, September 18, Jitendra Singh Gangwar, the Additional Directorate General of Police at Headquarters, revealed that the Bihar Government’s Home Department has given the green light for the Inspector recruitment roster within the Bihar Police. He also conveyed that the Bihar government will soon issue a recruitment notification for multiple Police Inspector positions via the service commission in the upcoming days.

Among these, 13 per cent, equivalent to 5 vacancies, will be filled through the sports quota. The remaining 1,275 positions will be filled through direct recruitment, with 35 per cent, or 455 posts, reserved for women candidates.
A detailed recruitment advertisement is anticipated to hit the scene in October. Meanwhile, the Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) is diligently restoring 21,391 constable positions, having received an astounding 1.8 million applications for these roles. The examinations will be held on 1, 7, and 15 October.
For the Bihar Police SI Recruitment, candidates must hold a minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree. The maximum age limit for general category applicants may be capped at 37 years, with allowances for age relaxations as per government regulations for reserved categories.
