At least 36 Palestinians have been killed after Israel struck a house in central Gaza, not far from the Nuseirat refugee camp. The territory’s Health Ministry says the bombing destroyed a family home and that children were among the dead.Survivors say at least seven displaced families were living in the building,and many are thought to be trapped beneath the rubble. The White House says it is “cautiously optimistic” on the chances for a Gaza ceasefire deal after a new proposal by Hamas.
