Vince McMahon Intends to ‘Vigorously Defend’ Himself Against Janet Grant’s Accusations, Steps Down From TKO Board – News18

WWE co-founder Vince McMahon stepped down from the role of executive chairman and the TKO board of directors following Janet Grant’s explosive lawsuit alleging that the 78-year-old had sexually assaulted her during her time at the company.

Following the allegations, McMahon said he intended to fight the accusation tooth and nail to clear his name.

“I stand by my prior statement that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth,” McMahon said.

“I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name,” he added.

“However, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effective immediately,” McMahon added.

The incriminating lawsuit against McMahon filed earlier this week at the Connecticut federal court also added that he had trafficked Grant sexually during her spell at the wrestling brand.

Grant further stated that McMahon had defecated on her in scenes of psychological torture and that the 78-year-old also trafficked her out for sexual abuse.

Grant also accused McMahon of forced threesomes, alongside John Laurinaitis, WWE’s former head of talent relations, which ended in her being bruised and bleeding.

The complaint further stated that McMahon shared lewd photos and videos of her without her consent to other WWE employees, while also allegedly directing Grant to have sex with other executives and a wrestling star.

This isn’t the first time McMahon has been alleged of such travesties by former wrestlers, as similar accusations were levelled against the 78-year-old last year as well.

An internal investigation found that McMahon paid $14.6 million to several women who accused him of sexual misconduct as hush money.
