A German naval frigate in the Red Sea mistakenly opened fire at an American MQ-9 Reaper. The German Defence Ministry confirmed the incident involving a drone of an allied nation occurred on February 26. The Hessen frigate is in the Red Sea as part of an EU mission to help secure international shipping from attacks by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis.
