Attendance is taken through a QR code, if absent, the message reaches parents immediately.

The principal of this school, Aditya Vijay, said that the idea of the QR Code has been taken from the Model School of Nagaur.

In today’s digital age, even the most remote areas are embracing technology, as evidenced by the recent adoption of hi-tech attendance systems in a small village in Rajasthan. According to the latest report, the Government Higher Secondary School of Awan in Kota district has implemented QR code scanning for marking attendance, bringing modernisation to its educational practices. This initiative reflects a shift towards online attendance management, mirroring practices already established in private schools.

Under this system, each student is issued an ID card with a unique QR code, which is scanned to record attendance. In the event of a student’s absence, an automated message is sent directly to their parents’ mobile phones, ensuring timely communication. Principal Aditya Vijay credited the inspiration for this innovation to the Model School of Nagaur, highlighting the school’s forward-thinking approach to education.

In addition to digital attendance tracking, the Government Higher Secondary School of Awan boasts other modern facilities, including WiFi connectivity across the campus and surveillance through 10 CCTV cameras. Moreover, the school enforces a strict dress code for both staff and students, with female staff required to wear pink sarees and male staff mandated to don check shirts and formal black pants.

Furthermore, the school fosters a culture of community involvement, with staff members contributing one day’s salary annually to the school’s Gyan Sankalp portal. This commitment to collective support enhances the school’s resources and initiatives. Leveraging the benefits of the Bhamashah Card scheme, the school extends financial aid to families, particularly women, by facilitating access to core banking services and biometric identification.

Continuing its commitment to progress, the Government Higher Secondary School of Awan has undertaken various development projects, including the renovation of four rooms, a hall and a library, as well as the provision of new furniture for students from classes 1 to 12. Additionally, recreational facilities such as a badminton court and playground have been established to promote physical activity and holistic development among students.

By blending traditional values with contemporary practices, the school paves the way for a brighter future for its students and the community, at large.
