Indian wrestler Saurav Gurjar, performing under the ring name of Sanga, was left heartbroken after being released by WWE. Earlier on April 19, shocking news came out that the American wrestling company had terminated the contracts of five superstars. Among them were Jinder Mahal and the Indus Sher duo of Sanga and Veer.

Following his departure from the WWE circuit, Sanga uploaded a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts about the development. Sanga posted a video where he spoke about how his involvement in WWE was a matter of pride for the people in India.

In the now-deleted post, Sanga referred to a verse of the Bhagavad Gita, which says, “Whatever happened, happened for the good. Whatever is happening is happening for the good. Whatever will happen will also happen for the good.” Keeping aside the unpleasant news, Sanga wanted to keep himself positive. He, however, lashed out at WWE for not giving enough opportunities to Indian wrestlers.

“When it comes to viewership, you look to our country, India. Whether it’s Facebook, YouTube, or TV, the audience is right there. However, when it comes to showcasing Indian talent, you seem reluctant to push it forward, whatever the reasons may be, whether it’s creative differences, work styles, or something else,” Sanga said, as quoted by Inside The Ropes.

The Indus Sher member further underlined the fact that his participation in WWE shows let the tri-colour fly high in the global wrestling circuit. Thus, according to Sanga, his departure from the company will greatly impact India’s recognition in world wrestling.

“We are talking about a nation of 1.4 billion people. Those are 1.4 billion people who appreciate us. They want to see Indian talents showcased on an international stage. But you’re not willing to give those opportunities,” the 38-year-old added.

Before signing off, Sanga extended his gratitude to the WWE officials for providing him with the platform. He also seemed confident about making the most of any opportunity to make India and its people proud. “We are happy and we will not let our country’s honour down. For that, we are prepared to do whatever it takes,” he said.

Sanga made his first appearance in the American wrestling scene as part of the NXT brand in March 2020. He spent three years there before signing a contract with WWE Raw. He has competed in many tag-team matches along with his Indus Sher buddies Jinder Mahal and Veer.
