Halloween: The 4-year-old ‘Zelensky’ wore a dark green sweatshirt as his Halloween costume along with an orange tote bag

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday attended the official White House Halloween Party with his family where his son appeared to dress up as Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky while his daughter dressed up in a Ukrainian flag-themed dress.

The 4-year-old ‘Zelensky’ wore a dark green sweatshirt as his Halloween costume along with an orange tote bag. He was accompanied by his sister who wore a costume designed in Ukraine flag-like yellow and blue stripes.

Visuals from the Halloween Party hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden went viral on social media. In the video, President Biden can be seen giving young “Zelensky” a candy box bearing the presidential seal.

According to a New York Post report, Blinken’s grandfather, Moritz Blinken, was born in Ukraine’s capital, which at the time was a part of the Russian empire.

Blinken immigrated to the US in the 1900s with his family as a 4-year-old. His ancestors were, like Zelensky, Ukrainian Jews.

Observed on October 31 every year, Halloween is a holiday with mystery, spookiness, and creativity.

On Halloween, people of all ages don costumes, engaging in pumpkin carving, and immersing themselves in the spooky atmosphere.

United State’s Stance on Ukraine-Russia Conflict

In February 2022, Russia embarked on a full-scale invasion of Ukraine to topple the Western-aligned government of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The United States extended financial and military aid to Ukraine and remained committed to the restoration of its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Amid a divided Congress vote on Ukraine, top leaders of the Biden administration including Antony Blinken urged to send major immediate aid to Israel and Ukraine, arguing at a Senate hearing that broad support for the assistance would signal US strength to adversaries worldwide.

The testimony from Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin and and Blinken came as the administration’s massive $105 billion emergency aid request for conflicts in the two countries encountered roadblocks.
