The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is all set to conduct the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024, Prelims on May 26. The main exam will be conducted on October 19. Interested candidates can submit their online applications on the official website of the UPSC at upsc.gov.in before March 5, 2024.
To be eligible for the UPSC exam, aspirants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or have an equivalent qualification. They must be between the ages of 21 and 32.
As per the official notification, the commission is aiming to fill approximately 1,056 vacancies through the examination, out of which 40 vacancies are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category candidates.
Talking about the application fees, candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 100 to apply for the exam. However, women, SC, ST, and persons with benchmark disabilities are exempt from paying fees.
The UPSC CSE 2024 will be held in two stages, including the Civil Services (Preliminary Examination (objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination and the Civil Services (Main) Examination, which will consist of a written and interview round for the selection of candidates for various services and posts.
UPSC CSE 2024: Here’s How To Apply
Step 1: Candidates who wish to apply for CSE 2024 need to visit the official website of the UPSC at upsconline.nic.in.
Step 2: Applicants need to then register at the One Time Registration (OTR) platform on the website.
Step 3: Once registered, fill out the online application for the examination (note that OTR registration is done once in a lifetime).
Step 4: If an applicant has already registered, they can go forward with the online application right away.
UPSC CSE 2024: Modification In OTR Or Application Form
Candidates would be able to make changes to the application form from the next day of the closure of the application window. The window will remain accessible for 7 days from the date of opening of the same, i.e., from March 6, 2024, to March 12, 2024. It is to be noted that changes in the OTR profile can be made once in a lifetime after registration.
In case the candidate applies for the first time in this examination after registration of OTR, the deadline for modification of OTR would be March 12, 2024, as mentioned by the commission in the official notification.
