The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is set to release the class 10th in April. Ahead of the result declaration, the UPMSP has made a crucial announcement for the students. As per the reports, lakhs of students who have appeared in the mathematics examination of the 2024 UP board are going to get bonus marks. In the mathematics examination held on February 27, question number 4 in the Paper series IA is outside the mentioned syllabus. Similarly, all four options given in question number 17 in the same question set are wrong. As both the questions carry one mark each, the students who appeared in the examination will be rewarded 2 marks by the board.

All the students who have got question Paper series IB will be getting 1 mark each, as more than one option was given in question number 5 of the mathematics exam was found to be correct. The board officials announced the details on rewarding bonus marks to the class 10th students due to the authority’s fault.

As per the reports, 20,93,548 students have registered for the examination of mathematics in the state. Earlier, a similar type of mistake was found in other subjects as well. According to the officials, this time a significant improvement has been seen as the question papers are set by the experienced teachers in the state.

The state board secretary, Dibyakant Shukla said, “The rule of the UP Board is that if any question is wrong or has been asked from outside the approved syllabus, then in such a situation the marks prescribed for that question are awarded to all the candidates”, Hindustan Times reported.

The board secretary has also mentioned that the teachers will not ferry the answer sheet bundles. From this year, the teachers will be relieved from the duty of delivering the answer sheets from the evaluation centre to the state board’s regional offices. The decision has been taken amid the protests against the murder of Dharmendra Kumar, who was a teacher in a government high school.
