Amid royal health worries, Queen Camilla and Prince William’s bond strengthens. Insights on their evolving relationship and shared responsibilities

Amid ongoing health concerns for their spouses, Queen Camilla and Prince Charles appeared to have drawn closer together as the UK’s Royal Family faces multiple challenges at once, including the health worries of King Charles and the Princess of Wales.

Despite past tensions between Prince of Wales and his stepmother, back-to-back crises have helped forge a stronger bond between them. “Recent events have obviously brought William and Camilla much closer. They have been left, almost literally, nursing the Crown while the King and the Princess recover,” renowned royal expert Jennie Bond told OK magazine.

Bond, who is a former BBC royal correspondent said: “Their teams will be working more closely to coordinate diaries and cover the engagements that has been planned, and Camilla and William are bound to have been in much closer regular contact.” Bond explained how both are putting joint efforts to manage engagements amid the backdrop of health worries.

“Apart from the business side of things, I’m sure they will have been an emotional help to one another as well,” Bond added. “Apart from the business side of things, I’m sure they will have been an emotional help to one another as well. Both will have been so worried about these unexpected health issues and I imagine they will have shared their concerns.” Reflecting on Prince William’s journey in accepting Camilla, Bond highlighted the complexity of his emotions, rooted in his mother’s Princess Diana tumultuous marriage. Yet, she notes his mature recognition of Camilla’s significance to his father’s happiness.

Though Prince William has put the past behind him in Camilla’s case, Prince Harry’s attempt to assist the family during the crisis met resistance from his big brother, who has reached his limit, according to former royal butler Paul Burrell.  Burrell was quoted as saying by UK’s Mirror that there is “no place” for the Duke of Sussex in the royal fold as “too much has been said” since he and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals and moved to the US.

Harry probably believed he could “put on a uniform and do a few jobs for William and Charles” but this seems unlikely because of lack of trust between the two brothers, according to the former butler. “There is no place for Harry in the royal fold. He has made his bed and now he has to lie in it. Too much has been said. The drawbridge is up and there is no way back for Harry,” Burrell was quoted as saying by the UK tabloid.
