”Congress is taking Rajasthan in that direction where the culture and traditions of Rajasthan will be in danger,” Prime Minister Modi said at the public meeting in Baytoo in the Barmer district

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attacked the ruling Congress in Rajasthan over corruption and ”appeasement policy” and claimed the morale of terrorists and rioters soars wherever the party is in power, as he urged voters to punish the Congress in the upcoming state elections.

”You have got an opportunity to punish them. Press the button with the lotus symbol so that their punishment is ensured. Jaise unhe phansi de rahe ho, aise kamal ke nishaan pe batan dabao (Press on the button with the lotus symbol as if you are sentencing them to death),” Modi said addressing an election rally in Barmer in Rajasthan.

The prime minister said that in the last five years, people in the state have not been able to celebrate any festival peacefully.

”Sometimes there are riots, sometimes stone pelting and curfew. This has been the picture of Congress in the last five years. Therefore, it is essential to remove Congress from here,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi said that under the Congress rule, Rajasthan is leading in incidents of atrocities against women.

”Just think, why does the courage of terrorists and rioters increase wherever Congress comes to power? The answer is – Congress’ appeasement policy.

”Congress is taking Rajasthan in that direction where the culture and traditions of Rajasthan will be in danger,” Prime Minister Modi said at the public meeting in Baytoo in the Barmer district.

”The BJP is necessary in the state to protect the culture,” he asserted.

The upcoming assembly election is not just for electing MLAs, but it is for the return of law and order in Rajasthan and to protect the culture and traditions of the state by removing the Congress and bringing the BJP back to power, he said.

He said that women’s safety and empowerment were given top priority in all central schemes during the last 10 years.

”There should be no mistake in working towards the aim of removing Congress,” he said.

He accused the Congress of indulging in corruption in Jal Jeevan Mission under which piped water is being provided in rural areas.

”I send money from Delhi for the Jal Jeevan Mission, but these Congress people habitually eat commission in that too.

”Congress people do business of earning money and doing corruption even in a noble cause like water,” Modi alleged.

Targeting the state government over paper leak incidents, he alleged that the paper leak mafia has links with the top leaders of the Congress.

”Congress left the youths in the hands of paper leak mafia. The paper leak mafia is directly linked to top Congress leaders,” he said.

”Till now there were discussions about the ’lal diary’, now the ’lal diary’ has started opening up. They (Congress leaders) used to say that it was fake, now the ’lal diary’ is speaking loudly,” he said.

It was alleged by sacked Rajasthan minister Rajendra Gudha in July this year that he possessed a ”lal (red) diary” which has details of illegal financial transactions of Congress leaders. Some pages purportedly to be from the alleged diary went viral on social media on Tuesday.

Modi said that when Congress leaders come to seek votes, people should ask them what is there in the diary.

He also said that ”now lockers are opening up and money and gold are being found. Should these people be punished or not?” BJP leader Kirodi Meena had alleged that private lockers operated by a firm in Jaipur have black money. On his complaint, the Income tax department took action on the lockers recently.

Modi said that now it’s the time for the people to wipe out the Congress from Rajasthan. He said that elections are the chance for people to punish Congress.

The prime minister urged voters to exercise their franchise.

BJP state president CP Joshi and other leaders and party candidates from different seats were also present at the rally.
