Prime Minister on Wednesday launched warehousing facility ‘Bharat Mart’ in Dubai, in the presence of UAE Prime Minister and Vice-President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to strengthen the trade ties between the countries. The facility is expected to be operational by 2025.
The Bharat Mart, whose concept is yet to be finalised, will be similar to China’s ‘Dragon Mart’.
What Is Dragon Mart?
Dragon Mart is a warehousing facility which will be a unified platform for exporters to showcase their diverse range of products under one roof.
The facility, which will be set up in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), will be spread in over 1 lakh square meters. It will serve as a multipurpose facility, offering a mix of warehouse, retail and hospitality units.
The Bharat Mart will have showrooms, offices, warehouses and supporting amenities for diverse goods ranging from heavy machinery to perishable items.
