The entrance exam will be held on June 12.

This program is designed to train primary teachers in line with the National Education Policy 2020.

The Supreme Court rolled out a new ruling where teachers holding a B.Ed degree are no longer eligible to teach in primary schools. Recently, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) introduced the Integrated Teachers Education Program (ITEP). The program is designed to train primary teachers in line with the National Education Policy 2020.

The Integrated Teachers Education Program (ITEP) is a four-year course. Admission to this program will be open to students who have completed their 12th grade. ITEP comprises two main components: the School Specific Stage and the Individual Discipline.

Students aiming to enrol in the four-year ITEP course can apply via the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2024. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is currently receiving applications for the exam, and those interested can register on the official website NTA.ac.in before April 30. Corrections to application forms will be allowed from May 2 to May 5. The exam city slip will be released in the second week of May, with the entrance examination set for June 12.

The entrance exam for NCET 2024 will be conducted by the NTA. The exam will be held in computer-based mode (CBT) across 178 cities nationwide. The question paper will be available in English as well as various regional languages including Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

About ITEP course

The Integrated Teachers Education Program (ITEP) lasts for four years and is open to students who have completed 12th grade. Previously, students usually spent three years on graduation followed by two years for B.Ed. However, ITEP now offers the opportunity to achieve a B.Ed. equivalent degree in just four years. Additionally, completing ITEP qualifies individuals to become certified primary teachers.
