North Korea fired “several” cruise missiles from its west coast into the Yellow Sea, according to South Korea. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said that the missiles were fired on the morning of January 24. The missiles were fired a day after North Korea demolished a major monument, informally known as the “Arch of Reunification”. The Monument to the Three Charters for National Reunification, situated in Pyongyang, symbolised the goal of reconciliation with South Korea.
