As per the official notification by the National Institute of Science Education and Research, the NEST 2024 exam will be conducted to fill a total of 200 seats

The registration process for the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST 2024) will be commenced by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and Mumbai University- Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) on March 20. The dates for NEST 2024 regarding important events have also been published by the examination conducting body. Candidates will be able to apply for the NEST 2024 exam by visiting the official website of NEST at nestexam.in.

It is to be noted by the applicants that the last date to fill up the NEST 2024 application is until May 31. As per the official notification by the National Institute of Science Education and Research, the NEST 2024 exam will be conducted to fill a total of 200 seats. The admit cards can be downloaded from June 15 and the exam will be held on June 30. The results are slated to be announced on July 10.

NEST 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Applicants should have completed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent from science stream. They must also have passed the last qualifying exam in 2021 or 2023. Moreover, candidates in the general or Other Backward Classes (OBC) category are required to have passed Class 12 board exams with at least 60 per cent aggregate, while candidates belonging to the reserved category should have obtained at least 55 per cent in their Class 12 exam.

Age limit: Talking about the age limit criteria, Candidates in the General or Other Backward Class (OBC) category must have been born on or after August 1, 2003, whereas reserved category candidates will be eligible for a maximum 5-year relaxation.

NEST 2024: Exam pattern

The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2024 examination will be conducted in 120 cities across India on June 30. The NEST 2024 paper will include objective-type questions, comprising 68 questions in total. The duration of the paper will be 3 hours, and the NEST 2024 carries a total of 200 marks. The exam will be divided into 4 sections, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. Candidates will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer in MCQ, while there is a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.
