Meet IAS Nirish Rajput, Who Fought All Odds And Studied On His Own To Clear UPSC – News18

With lakhs of students competing against each other to crack what is considered to be the toughest exam conducted every year, UPSC is a dream for many. Millions of UPSC hopefuls try every trick in the book to clear the most challenging exam. The selection is done based on preliminary, mains, and interview processes. While dedication, hard work, and strategies are the keys to clearing the Civil Service Exam, aspirants also look for inspiration. And, what better than the success story of the administrative officers who managed to rise above all the obstacles to clear the exam?

IAS Nirish Rajput’s journey is one such source of inspiration. Nirish, who hails from Madhya Pradesh, was raised in a family with lots of financial troubles when it comes to finance. If the media reports about his background are anything to go by, Nirish’s father was a tailor by trade. He was forced to borrow money for his livelihood. His father’s financial condition led him to become more determined than ever to pass the UPSC examination.

He went to a government school for his primary education as his family’s financial situation was poor. Reportedly, he relocated to Gwalior and got his BSc and MSc degrees from there only while working at the same time. He lacked even the funds required to grab the proper notes. To ensure that his education went smoothly, Nirish started selling papers and paid for his studies. Despite the economic hurdles, he excelled in education.

While preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Exam, Nirish was also working for a close companion’s coaching facility. He used to teach students and continued doing it for two years. However, two years later, his friend ousted him from the coaching facility after which he traveled to Delhi with a motive to establish his career.

He borrowed money to study on his own and settled in Delhi. Since he did not have enough money, he did not go to institutions. He failed three times but managed to pass the UPSC CSE exam with an all-India Rank of 370 on his fourth attempt.
