FIFA have announced the nominees for their annual award ‘The Best’ under various categories including the best player, best coach, best goalkeepers for both the men’s and women’s categories.

FIFA have announced the nominees for their annual award FIFA ‘The Best.’ The nominations have come under various categories which are open for voting at the moment.

The Best FIFA Men’s Player: Many notable nominees have been included for this award like Lionel Messi for his outstanding campaign in the FIFA World Cup, in 2022 along with the likes of Julian Alvarez who has the unique achievement of winning the World Cup as well as getting the treble in the same season as well. Some more nominees include Kylian Mbappe for his exploits in the World Cup and for PSG, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen for winning the Serie A for Napoli. The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland have also been nominated for their outstanding campaigns for Manchester City leading them to their first Champions League and a European treble.

The Best FIFA Men’s Coach: Pep Guardiola will be the favourite to win the award for his outstanding achievement with City by winning the treble making it the second in his career. Luciano Spaletti has also been nominated for leading Napoli to a Serie A win. The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper: Ederson got his name in for his treble-winning campaign with Man City while Thibaut Courtois secured his nomination thanks to a Copa Del Ray win, nomination in the Champions League Team of the Season. Yassine Bounou managed to win the Europa League with Sevilla and was part of the Morrocan team that went to the semi-finals in the World Cup. Marc Andre Ter-Stegen was in the La Liga Team of the Season and also managed to rack up the most clean sheets in the league’s history. Andre Onana was part of the Inter side that managed to go into the Champions League finals.
