Giving the slogan of ‘BJP aayegi, dange rukwayegi’, PM Modi asked when what was chief minister Ashok Gehlot doing when Jodhpur was burning in the fire of riots.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday referred to crime against women in Rajasthan, the ‘red diary’ of alleged corruption by Ashok Gehlot government and riots during his address in Jodhpur.

“Have you heard about the ‘red diary’? People say that the diary has details of corruption by Congress government but the grand old party will never let the details of the diary be revealed. Only BJP government can unravel the mystery of the ‘red diary’,” the PM said.

Giving the slogan of ‘BJP aayegi, dange rukwayegi‘, PM Modi asked when what was chief minister Ashok Gehlot doing when Jodhpur was burning in the fire of riots.

“Be it Ram Navami, Parshuram Jayanti or Hanuman Jayanti, there has been no place in Rajasthan where stone pelting did not take place on these occasions,” the prime minister said.

Last year, communal tensions gripped Gehlot’s hometown Jodhpur hours before Eid, prompting the authorities to suspend mobile internet services and impose a curfew in 10 police stations areas of the city.

Tensions broke out over putting up of Islamic flags on the Jalori gate circle, which led to stone pelting in which five policemen were injured.

Shops, vehicles and houses were pelted with stones near the Jalori gate area.

Members of a minority community were installing Eid flags and they put up a flag on a roundabout alongside the statue of freedom fighter Balmukund Bissa.

This led to a confrontation as members of the other community alleged that a saffron flag, which they had put up there ahead of Parshuram Jayanti, had gone missing. The issue snowballed into stone pelting and clashes, officials had said.

Further, PM Modi congratulated the makers of the movie ‘The Vaccine War’ for “showcasing great work of our scientists”. “The film shows how our scientists worked day and night to make the Covid-19 vaccine. Every Indian is feeling proud after watching the movies,” the prime minister said.
