Haiman has been taken from the Supernova desert rave, where Hamas members killed at least 360 of the partygoers and abducted dozens

A 27-year-old female hostage, who was abducted during the October 7 Hamas attack on southern Israel, has been killed. The family of Inbar Haiman, a visual communications student from Haifa, was notified of her death by authorities, The Times of Israel reported.

The report, however, did not say how or when Haiman was killed in Gaza. Her body is believed to be held in the Strip. Haiman was taken hostage at the Supernova music festival, where Hamas members killed over 300 of the young partygoers and abducted dozens, according to Israeli media. She was volunteering at the festival.

On October 7, she texted her boyfriend Noam Alon about the onslaught, as the young party-goers attempted to flee in cars and on foot. She was remembered as a “gifted” and “creative girl full of joy,” the Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum said Friday. This news of Haiman’s death comes as the Israeli government continues to reiterate that bringing home all of the hostages is one of its chief war aims.

‘We are not relenting’

“I would like to clarify: The return of our hostages is a main goal. We are not relenting in our efforts even for a moment, even at this moment,” the office of Prime Minister Minister of Israel said in a statement on Thursday. On Friday, Israel said that 20 people held in Gaza are confirmed dead, with the recovery of eight bodies. Government spokesperson Eylon Levy said Hamas currently holds the bodies of 20 hostages. “We know that they have been murdered in captivity.”

Close to 130 hostages remain in Gaza after 105 civilians were released from Hamas captivity during a weeklong truce in late November. The remaining hostages in Gaza are 113 men and 19 women, including two minors and 10 people over 75 years old. Of the 132 hostages, 110 have been released so far, including 86 Israelis and 24 of other nationalities.
