If you want to achieve something in life, then you must put in your best efforts and think out of the box. A recent story about two friends, Atharva Puranik and Pranay Chouhan, is gaining traction on social media for this reason. Coming from humble beginnings in Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh, they both worked tirelessly to attain success in their professional lives. Pranay’s father runs a school in Dewas. Atharva and Pranay studied in the same school. One day, the duo noticed the monotonous education structure every school abides by. The school placed a higher emphasis on textbook teaching, rather than encouraging students to have a profound understanding of the subjects. This approach hindered students from developing a constructive mindset and thorough understanding of several topics. It was at this moment that Atharva and Pranay came up with the idea to invent a platform aimed at simplifying education for children.

Atharva and Pranay pursued separate fields after their schooling. While Pranay graduated from Amity University, Atharva enrolled and subsequently dropped out from SRM University in Chennai in the first year itself. Even while going their separate ways, the two friends were still dedicated to furthering the concept they had come up with in school.

With a joint investment of Rs 1,000 each, they established an app named Padhle in 2021. Atharva started sharing his notes for classes 9 and 10 on the platform. Additionally, he launched a YouTube channel through which he delivered video lectures to educate students. The website also included test series, thorough NCERT solutions, as well as notes.

The idea was to make course material readily available to students in an engaging way that is also informative. The experience is further enhanced by fun elements like memes and jokes that are incorporated into the study material. Although the course content had input from others from the teaching fraternity, the bulk of it was shaped by Atharva and Pranay.

Atharva stresses the importance of a friendly teaching approach for better understanding. His mission to reform education is succeeding, with hundreds of thousands benefiting from their courses. Over 10,000 students have subscribed, and their platform is now valued at around Rs 25 crore, with a first-quarter revenue of over Rs 1 crore. They plan to expand to classes 11 and 12 too.
