The US-based tech giant Google recently rolled a new ;Remove this result’ feature in beta version. This feature serves as a valuable tool for removing some of your personal information from your Google Search results.

However, it’s important to understand that this action doesn’t erase the information from the entire internet or the specific website it originates from.

According to CNBC, the data will still be present, but it won’t appear in search results under your name, making it more challenging for people to locate that specific information.

Now users have the the ability to remove their phone number, email, and home address from Google Search results. If you want to take down your personal data from search results, here’s how you can do it.

Open your web browser and go to myactivity.google.com/results-about-you. then select “Results to review.” Now click on “Get started” and then press “Next” two times. Next, you have to add your personal information like your name, address, phone number, and email. You can add more than one entry for each.

It is important to double-check the information you’ve provided. Google gives you three ways to receive notifications and they are email, push notifications, or both.

Now you have to Choose how you want Google to notify you. Afterward, you’ll see a pop-up message that says, “We’re taking a look.”

Next, you need to wait for notifications from Google. When you receive an alert, you can decide if you want Google to remove that information from search results or leave it there. If you made any mistakes while providing the information, you can go back to the “Results About You” page to make corrections.

Users can monitor the request by going into the “Data & privacy” options of their Google Account. Scroll down and press “My activity.” Then press the three dots in the search bar and select “Other activity.” Press the “Manage results about you” and you can see the status.
