KCR’s surgery was performed by a team of senior orthopaedic surgeons at the hospital and his condition post the operation was said to be stable

Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday was discharged from the Yashoda Hospital after he successfully underwent a total hip replacement surgery on December 8.

A source close to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief said that he would be going to his home in Nandi Nagar.

BRS MLC and Rao’s daughter K Kavitha – after her father was discharged from the hospital today – took to X and thanked the team at the hospital. She wrote, “All the warmth and love we received from across the country during this difficult time was very heartwarming to KCR garu and the entire family. To all the BRS family my gratitude & love.”

The hospital authorities have also informed that KCR is expected to recover in six to eight weeks.

Rao had undergone a hip replacement surgery after a fracture caused by a fall in the bathroom on December 7. The former CM was admitted to the Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad.

The surgery was performed by a team of senior orthopaedic surgeons at the hospital and his condition post the operation was said to be stable.

In a health bulletin — released by the hospital — they said that KCR “had a slip and fall in his Bathroom at his Residence and was subsequently brought to Yashoda Hospital Somajiguda for further care”, adding that, he underwent the “planned operation of left Total Hip Replacement.”

While recovering at the hospital, the BRS chief was visited by Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu and several other leaders and celebs, including Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi.

However, the leader had later made an appeal to the people to not visit him as it may cause inconvenience to other patients.

In a video message, he had said that the doctors who are treating him have warned that there would be a risk of infection with people from outside getting in touch with him.
