‘Fake’ NEET PG Admission Form Circulating on Social Media, Warns MCC – News18

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a warning regarding counterfeit admission forms for Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Diplomate of National Board (DNB), and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programmes. These fraudulent forms falsely claim to allocate seats through nomination and payment under the state quota. The committee has stated that the application-cum-admission form circulating online is ‘FAKE’ and has not been officially released by the MCC, MoHFW, or DGHS.

“It has come to the notice of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) that the following ‘Application-cum-admission Form for MD/MS/DNB/MDS Course of 50 per cent Government Seat Quota/ Nominated Quota (Copy attached below) is circulating in the social media wherein they have claimed that seats will be allotted on nomination basis by payment of fees under nominated/state quota,” read the official notice. The committee has further warned applicants to be wary of any correspondence provided by unidentifiable individuals on behalf of the MCC about seat allocation.

Additionally, the committee strongly advises candidates to promptly report any counterfeit websites or unscrupulous agents to the MCC. The notification emphasises that applicants should handle all counseling-related processes directly on the official website, rather than relying on agents, and warns them against engaging with fraudulent agents.

Furthermore, candidates are advised by the committee to report any fake websites or agents to the MCC as soon as possible. The notification also suggests that applicants manage all counselling-related actions directly on the official website, rather than depending on agents, and cautions them against doing business with phoney agents.

The only portal that is hosted by MCC is mcc.nic.in. Students should be wary of fake emails with addresses like admissions@mohfw-gov.co.in and approvals@adg-edu.in, the committee said.

Seats are not distributed by MCC based on nominations. The notice further states that the MCC of DGHS does not send letters to successful students. In order to be admitted, candidates who have been given seats by MCC must download Provisional Allotment Letters from the MCC main website and report to the allotted institution/college. Therefore, it is recommended that candidates use caution when responding to emails purporting to represent MCC regarding seat allocation.

Students are encouraged to avoid dealing with phoney agents and to do any counselling-related tasks on the official website by themselves rather than using agents to do so. Candidates should not disclose/reveal the password they generated for counselling to any other person. Any instances of fake websites or agents should be reported to MCC right away, and candidates can file an FIR in these cases.

MCC has urged that candidates and their parents refrain from sharing or forwarding this fake form to their social media connections or contacts. If this or any other similar false form is discovered to be being circulated, strict legal action may be taken.
