iPhone’s customisation options are pretty limited. Apart from the wallpaper on both the home screen and lockscreen along with widgets, there’s not much users can do. Sure changing icons is an option via the tiresome process using the Shortcuts app.
Beyond these, there’s nothing much you can do. Moving on, there’s one thing people love to customise — ringtones.More often than not, people like to setcustom ringtone in general and even contact-wise to know who’s calling. And, iPhones do have the option to change ringtones. However, a custom ringtone requires users to either buy one from the App Store or use the preset options.
But there’s a third option — creating your custom ringtone and then using it as your ringtone.
In this guide, we will tell you how to create a custom ringtone for iPhones.
How to create a custom ringtone on an iPhone

  • Open GarageBand on your iPhone.
  • Navigate to the “Tracks” option and swipe until the “Audio Recorder” section is visible.
  • Use the “Loop Browser” icon to import an audio file from the Files app.
  • Drag the imported file into the GarageBand workspace and trim it to a maximum duration of 30 seconds.
  • Tap the downward-pointing arrow in the upper left corner to save the project. Then, go to “My Songs” and select the “Share” option to export it as a ringtone.

That’s it! You can now set it as your phone’s or contact’s ringtone.
Alternatively, if you have a Mac, then you can also create a ringtone on it and then transfer it to your iPhone.
