Madhav, a Bhanwarkuan resident, was diligently preparing for the entrance exam of the MPPSC when he felt a sharp ache in his chest.

An unfortunate event occurred on a Wednesday evening when Madhav, an 18-year-old college student from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, passed away due to a heart attack that he suffered during a coaching session. Madhav, a Bhanwarkuan resident, was diligently preparing for the entrance exam of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) when he felt a sharp ache in his chest. The upsetting occurrence happened when Madhav was attending a coaching class, and the entire incident was caught on camera by the CCTV footage of the classroom, as reported by NDTV.

In the 32-second video, Madhav is initially seen sitting among fellow MPPSC aspirants, engaged in his studies. But 10 seconds later, he leans over his desk and shows signs of discomfort. Sitting next to him, a worried classmate tries to ease his discomfort and notify the teacher. Madhav collapses shortly after, tumbling off his desk and onto the floor. The surrounding students, realizing the severity of the situation, rush to his aid. Hours after being admitted to a private hospital nearby, Madhav tragically died of a heart attack.

Videos of the incident surfaced on X and were shared by prominent journalists shortly after it was reported.

This tragedy has brought to light the frightening issue of ‘silent heart attacks’ in Indore, with reports indicating that this phenomenon has claimed at least four lives in the city in recent weeks, as reported by NDTV. Those who encounter cardiac episodes without obvious symptoms are said to be having a “silent heart attack,” which makes early detection difficult.

This tragic tragedy adds to prior accounts, which include the death of a 55-year-old businessman while he was exercising. Similarly in 2023, a 16-year-old girl passed away at school due to a suspected cardiac attack experienced. Because silent heart attacks are common in the area, Madhav’s sudden death highlights the need for more awareness and preventative actions.

Meanwhile, a 53-year-old senior professor at IIT Kanpur passed away in December 2023 from a heart attack that occurred when he was giving a talk at the institute’s alumni gathering. Prof Sameer Khandekar experienced intense chest pain and began to perspire heavily while giving a lecture, as per the account of Abhay Karandikar, the former director of IIT-Kanpur.
