Bihar’s Akash Raj Secures AIR 1 In UPSC JE Civil Exam – News18

One student named Akash Raj from the Purnia district of Bihar has brought pride and glory to his parents. He secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Junior Engineer (JE) Civil exam. His hard work paved the road for this huge accomplishment, which is quite challenging in itself. A resident of Renu Nagar in Purnia, Akash Raj ranked first all over India in the UPSC JE exam. Due to his excellent preparation right from the beginning, he can choose whichever field he wishes to. In an interview with Local 18, Akash shared that he graduated with his Bachelor in Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (BE EEE) from Bangalore College in 2018. He then joined a job with an annual package of Rs 5 lakh. He did not like it there and soon, quit it. Instead, he chose to work in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, West Bengal. He came across a vacancy for 20 seats for UPSC JE. He filled out the form on April 8 and appeared for the exam on October 8.

Recently, when the result was declared, he left his family, relatives and community feeling proud as he topped the exams and now he dreams of joining the civil service. Akash Raj shared that one should always learn from failure. He and his friends have failed the exams many times, but they never gave up. He added that many of his friends are employed in a good position today. Ultimately, it was the hard work that yielded success.

Akash Raj’s mother, Sarita Devi is a teacher at college. His father, Virendra Kumar is the Principal of RKK College in Purnia, Bihar. His parents are quite proud and pleased with their son’s achievements. Sarita Devi said in the interview that she used to always tell her son to rise so high that God comes and asks him to tell what it is he wishes for. She also shared sources of inspiration, and stories and gave him mantras for success in life.

His parents and aunt Ragini said that they believe that he can achieve much more in life, which will give them more satisfaction and happiness.
