According to Astroyogi, statistics reveal a remarkable surge in career-related consultations in March and April, recording a 50-60% increase compared to other times of the year.

Among the industries seeking the most guidance during appraisal season, the IT and corporate sectors take centre stage, reflecting the aspirations and ambitions of the country’s workforce.

Top cities

Geographically, major metropolitan hubs such as Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad emerge as hotspots for career-related consultations during the appraisal season.

With Bengaluru leading the pack at 60%, closely followed by Delhi at 50%, and Mumbai and Hyderabad at 40% each, these cities showcase the heightened focus individuals place on their career trajectories during this period.

Despite the evolving landscape of career aspirations, Astroyogi notes a consistent pattern in the types of questions asked compared to previous years.

Job changes, salary increments and promotions continue to top the list, reflecting the enduring quest for advancement in the professional realm. Emerging patterns also reveal a growing inclination towards industry transitions (95%) and following one’s passion (5%), indicating a shift towards fulfilling and purpose-driven career trajectories. Moreover, this period witnesses a spike in result-oriented questions, particularly from Gen Z individuals navigating board exams and career choices.
