Arvind Kejriwal News LIVE: Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal spent his first day in Tihar Jail on Tuesday. Hearing of the plea filed by Kejriwal challenging his arrest will continue to take place in the Court. Meanwhile, AAP leader Sanjay Singh, who was arrested in October last year in the excise policy case, was granted bail by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
The top court’s decision came after the Enforcement Directorate said that it has “no objection” to Singh’s bail. The SC bench, in its order, also said that the AAP leader can continue his political activities. However, a BJP spokesperson said that a regular bail should not be translated into a ‘clean’ chit.
As many as 55 AAP MLAs went to meet Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita, at his residence. They told her that he should not resign from the CM’s post under any circumstances, adding that they all stand by him. Sunita spoke to Kejriwal via video conferencing on Tuesday.
