Apple is still working out its strategy for the foldable market

Apple is expected to launch its first foldable device in the coming years and the company seems willing to work slowly than launch a half-bakes product.

Apple is probably one of the few big-name tech brands yet to try its luck in the foldable segment and it seems the company is slowly laying the groundwork to make that happen. Reports claim Apple will first have a foldable iPad before the iPhone, and the company is expecting help from one of its major rivals, Samsung.

The South Korean brand is not only a major smartphone player but also caters to the demands of the industry with the help of its display business.

And that’s where it is going to help Apple fulfil its ambition to launch a foldable product. Some of you might not know this, but Samsung is the main supplier for the iPhone 15 series OLED screens, so it is hardly surprising to hear the company become the foldable vendor as well for Apple.

New reports from South Korea claim Samsung is reworking its Apple business team to get the foldable panels made the way Apple wants for its products. Apple is a serious customer for Samsung, helping it earn billions over the years and the foldable segment will help Samsung increase its revenue from Apple. It is not confirmed that Apple is going to count on Samsung for the foldable panels but the South Korean brand is one of the few active names in the segment for many years, having many market-ready products that have been bought across the globe.

All these credentials make it easy for Apple to pick its vendor between Samsung and LG but it will be interesting to see which of these suppliers have the right balance to get Apple’s nod and work on their future Apple product. Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst has suggested that Apple will have its first foldable product out by 2025 and it is likely that we might start to hear more rumours about the device from next year onwards.
