Apple could have good news for iPhone users with the next iOS version
Apple has big plans for the next iOS update which will have a dose of AI for iPhone users but how many people will get this version?
Apple has just rolled out the iOS 17.4 beta update with the public release expected in the next few days. But all the focus is shifted to the big iOS update that is expected to have AI features. We’re talking about the iOS 18 version that should make its debut at the WWDC 2024 somewhere around June this year.
Apple has already teased its big AI plans for 2024 and we believe iPhone users will get their taste of AI with the new iOS version. But Apple has a clear policy of restricting the new features to iPhones that have the hardware support to run them. And iOS 18 is unlikely to be any different.
According to a new report, the iOS 18 update will be supporting quite a few iPhone models, including some really old ones, which is good news for people who want to continue using their older phones rather than buy a new expensive one. The list of the iPhones supporting iOS 18 is not official but it looks close to the actual data that the company might provide in the coming months.

Going by the list, you might have realised that all these iPhones supported the iOS 17 version when it came out in 2023. Usually, we see Apple cut down one model when a new version comes out so it will be interesting to see if the company changes its pattern or continues with its usual trend.
Either way, iPhone users should be aware that just because the new version is coming to old iPhones, it doesn’t mean they will support the new features, especially the supposed AI options.
