There are some who dream of working and living abroad. Some of them even make it to their dream countries and land their dream jobs. Between both these categories are the people who leave their jobs abroad to serve their nation and come back to their homeland. One such achiever is IAS Officer Abhishek Surana. Abhishek was earning well and had a job in Singapore that many of us dream of. However, he had different goals for which he came back to India. He succeeded in the UPSC exam and joined the Indian government.

Abhishek Surana hails from Bhilwara, Rajasthan. He did his schooling in his home town and used to actively participate in the various events organised in his school. He was also the head boy of his school. As he grew up, he decided to appear in the JEE exam. To pursue graduation in electrical engineering, he cracked the exam and secured a seat at IIT Delhi. After completing his graduation, he got a job offer from Barclays Investment Bank in Singapore. He then started working as a banker. Within a few years, he relocated to London while working for the same bank.

The IAS officer, then, stepped in with the decision to join a mobile app startup company which was located in Chile. It was during his time in Chile that he made up his mind that he would prepare for the UPSC exam. He wanted to become an IAS officer. In 2014, Abhishek returned to India and embarked on the journey to become a government employee.

However, the first two attempts did not prove to be fruitful as he could not clear the exam. On his third attempt, he cracked the exam and bagged AIR 250. He, on his final attempt, cracked the UPSC exam and secured AIR 10 to become an IAS officer. Abhishek, currently, is the CEO of the Zila Parishad in Jodhpur.
