Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) took a dig at the Nitish Kumar’s “more than 4000 MPs (instead of 400)” remark saying “defeat is visibly seen on BJP leaders’ faces”

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ‘4000 MPs’ gaffe in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an election rally in Bihar’s Nawada has gone viral on the internet. The former ally of JD(U), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) took a dig at the chief minister’s “more than 4000 MPs (instead of 400)” remark saying “defeat is visibly seen on BJP leaders’ faces as the NDA is clueless about the number of MPs in the country”.

JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar, who recently rejoined the BJP-led NDA in Bihar, while addressing an election rally in Nawada, fumbled “char lakh (four lakh)”, before correcting himself and saying “char hazaar se bhi zyada (more than 4,000)”, while wishing a “400 plus tally” to NDA in the ensuing elections. Nawada will vote in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 19.

RJD was quick to point out Nitish Kumar’s faux paus by sharing the viral video of Bihar CM’s speech on its X handle with the caption, “Defeat is visibly seen on BJP leaders’ faces as the NDA is clueless about the number of MPs in the country. The people of Nawada know how to drive away people who backtrack after making promises. Where is the special package meant for Bihar? Where is the special status to Bihar?”

The longest-serving chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has been in the news for his slip of tongues in the past as well.

NDA Seat-sharing in Bihar

According to the seat-sharing deal announced by the NDA for the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, the BJP will contest 17 out of 40 constituencies while the JD(U) will field its candidates for 16.

Lok Janashakti Party (Ram Vilas) would field its candidates in 5 seats including Hajipur and Jamui. Hindustani Awas Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha will contest 1 seat each.
