A 23-year-old Maitreya Kumar Shukla, hailing from a small village in Sidhi district achieved a remarkable feat. Despite being from an ordinary farming family, he secured the 633rd rank in the Civil Services 2023 examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

He took the UPSC exam in Hindi language. Maitreya credits his family’s support and his different preparation approach for his success.

He resided in the ordinary village of Amilia in the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, located 50 kilometres away from the district headquarters. Notably, he cleared the UPSC exam without any coaching. He received his primary education in both government and private schools in his village. Following this, his family enrolled him in a college in Bhopal for higher studies. After completing his post-graduation, he began preparing for the UPSC exam. Despite experiencing setbacks in his first attempt, Maitreya persisted and reappeared for the UPSC exam in 2023. He achieved the remarkable feat of securing the 633rd rank in the exam.

Maitreya shared that he studied in Hindi and prepared for the UPSC exam by preparing from Hindi education resources. He faced challenges because his family couldn’t afford coaching classes. Despite this, he stuck to a strict study schedule, dedicating 8 to 10 hours every day. He has amazed his parents with his success story.

On April 16th, the Union Public Service Commission announced the results of the Civil Service 2023 examination (UPSC CSE Result 2023). Among the successful candidates, Ayaan Jain from Bhopal achieved the 16th rank. Ayaan attributed his success to his parents and teachers and expressed his intention to assist the underprivileged once he became an officer. Notably, Ayaan’s father is an IPS officer, and his brother is an IAS officer.

Additionally, Chhaya Singh secured the 65th rank, while Kshitij Aditya Sharma secured the 384th rank. Sachin Goyal and Sameer Goyal, who are real brothers from Bhopal, secured the 209th and 222nd ranks, respectively. At the same time, Aditya Srivastava achieved All India Rank 1. Hailing from Lucknow, he started studying for the civil services exam in October 2017.
