Google has finally launched Gemini Advanced – the most powerful version of its AI-powered chatbot Gemini. This paid version is powered by Gemini Ultra 1.0 large language model (LLM) and the company says it will use the conversations to further train the AI model. In this regard, Google has updated the Privacy Policy of using Gemini Apps – a conversational AI service for consumers in apps.
“This notice and our Privacy Policy describe how Google handles your data when you interact with our Gemini Apps,” Google said.
As per a blog by Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Gemini Ultra 1.0 is the first to outperform human experts on MMLU (massive multitask language understanding), which uses a combination of 57 subjects — including math, physics, history, law, medicine and ethics — to test knowledge and problem-solving abilities.

However, these abilities come with a disclaimer: Do not enter confidential information in conversations with Gemini as human reviewers read, annotate and process Gemini Apps conversations.
“To help with quality and improve our products (such as generative machine-learning models that power Gemini Apps), human reviewers read, annotate, and process your Gemini Apps conversations. We take steps to protect your privacy as part of this process. This includes disconnecting your conversations with Gemini Apps from your Google Account before reviewers see or annotate them,” Google explained.
“Please don’t enter confidential information in your conversations or any data you wouldn’t want a reviewer to see or Google to use to improve our products, services, and machine-learning technologies,” it added.
Google collects Gemini Apps conversations, including product usage information, info about location and user feedback.
Notably, If you are 18 or older (or under 18 and turn Gemini Apps Activity on) then by default Google stores Gemini Apps activity with Google Account for up to 18 months. This can change to 3 or 36 months in the Gemini Apps Activity setting. Furthermore, users also have an option to either ‘Turn Off’ or ‘Turn Off and delete” Gemini Apps Activity.
‘Turning off’ the setting doesn’t delete the past data but users can manually delete it by time or topic anytime at myactivity.google.com/product/gemini.
