Three US service members were killed and 25 injured in a drone attack on American troops in northeast Jordan near Syria late on January 28. The US has blamed Iranian-backed militias for the attack on the Al-Tanf US military base near the Jordanian-Syrian-Iraqi border. Some officials said a large drone struck the base, which two other American officials identified as an installation in Jordan known as Tower 22. The Biden Administration has pledged “we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing”. Meanwhile, US Senator Lindsey Graham urged Biden it was time to “hit Iran now” and “hit them hard”.
