UPSC CSE: Meet Dr Aaditya Sharma Who Became IAS in His First Attempt – News18

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam 2024 on May 26. UPSC CSE is one of India’s most competitive recruitment exams, requiring a carefully planned study schedule and unwavering dedication. Many people aspire to pass the UPSC CSE exam and become IAS or IPS officers. However, Dr Aaditya Sharma’s remarkable success in achieving the 70th rank in the UPSC CSE examination in his first attempt demonstrates the power of dedication, strategic planning, and the critical role of mentorship. Dr Sharma, a medical graduate from the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chandigarh, entered the civil service with a strong desire to make a larger impact on public welfare.

Dr Sharma’s transformational journey began when he sought the guidance of a dedicated mentor for his preparation. “My mentorship under Sourabh Jain sir took a holistic approach, focusing on identifying and strengthening weaknesses, while providing continual support and motivation. It made me stick to the requirements of the exam,” The Hindu quoted Dr Aaditya Sharma as saying.

Dr Sharma skillfully combined his medical knowledge with the demanding requirements of the civil services examination in his methodical preparation for the IAS exam. His study plan focused on his elective subjects, the essay and ethics paper, and included frequent practice exams.

Looking into how he prepared for Prelims and Mains, Dr Sharma spent a significant amount of time studying static subjects and strategising about current events. For the preliminary exams, he pursued an ambitious strategy of attempting all 100 questions, which he refined through mock exams. Subsequently, he set aside time for each General Studies paper and his optional subject, Medical Science, when preparing for the mains, and used various methods such as maps, diagrams, and flowcharts to improve his answer presentation.

There were difficulties along Dr Sharma’s route to accomplishing this outstanding achievement. The IAS exam was very competitive and had a large syllabus. Nevertheless, with mentor Sourabh Jain’s guidance, these difficulties became chances for development and education, he added as reported by the portal.

Dr Sharma’s journey and IAS exam success have inspired many civil service aspirants.
