UP Woman, Working Full-time In State Tax Dept, Cracks UPSC Exam On 5th Attempt – News18

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recently declared its results, causing a frenzy all over the country. This year, Aditya Srivastava topped the exam. Amid this, a success story of a woman named Janvi Dubey is gaining traction on the internet. She has secured the 324th rank in UPSC. She currently serves as an Assistant Commissioner in the State Tax Department in Varanasi. Initially she was posted in Noida during 2020-21. Umashankar Dubey, her father, previously served as an Additional Commissioner in the Income Tax Department before retiring. Janvi’s younger brother, Kaustubh Dubey, currently works as a software engineer at Amazon Company in Bengaluru. Janvi’s mother is a homemaker.

Janvi completed her post-graduation in communication engineering from NIT Kurukshetra. She received her early education from CMS School, Lucknow. Janvi has always been a studious child.

In a conversation with Local-18, Janvi revealed that her path was not free of challenges. Despite encountering setbacks and taking the exam multiple times, she ultimately succeeded on her fifth attempt. She expresses immense happiness with this achievement. Janvi credits her family and teachers for their support, acknowledging their role in her success.

This year, Animesh Pradhan secured the second position with the All India Rank 2, followed by Donuru Ananya Reddy who secured the third position.

A total of 1016 candidates have received recommendations for appointment. Out of these, 347 are from the general category, 115 are from EWS, 303 are from OBC, 165 are from SC, and 86 are from ST categories. Initially, the UPSC had announced 1143 vacancies. Candidature of 355 recommended candidates has been listed as provisional, as stated in the commission’s official notice.
