The board exams across the state of Uttar Pradesh have started. The process of identifying fake students in various examination centres across the state is underway. In view of the strictness of the UP Board, the cheating mafia has changed its strategy. Instead of cheating in the centres, fake candidates are now being planted in examination centres to avoid detection from the board’s surveillance cameras. The candidates, involved in these activities, are caught with the vigilance of special teams or centre administrators. On Monday, ten candidates including seven boys and three girls, were caught cheating in both shifts.

Similarly, one fake candidate was caught in each of the following districts: Gazipur, Rampur, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Pratapgarh, and Basti. The centre administrators in the Etah district are facing legal action for irregularities. FIRs have been filed against seven fake candidates.

Board Secretary Divyakant Shukla mentioned that in the first shift, exams for High School English, Intermediate Computer, Commercial, and Agricultural classes were conducted in 8,272 examination centres across the state. Out of the 28,75,055 candidates, 1,68,058 were absent. In the second shift, exams for High School Security and Intermediate Physics, Psychology, Education, and Logic were conducted in 8,124 examination centres. Out of 17,36,106 candidates, 83,398 were absent. In total, 2,51,456 candidates did not appear for the exams in both shifts.

On Tuesday, in the first shift, Home Science exams will be held in 7,934 centres. There are 8,51,198 candidates registered for this subject. In the Intermediate exams, the subjects of the Commercial class will be tested at 1,097 centres. 32,631 candidates will participate in the Intermediate exams. Similarly, in the second shift, the High School Computer subject exam will take place in 2,277 centres, with 68,018 candidates participating. In the Intermediate exams, Geography and Agriculture class subjects will be tested at 6,116 centres, with 3,48,600 candidates registered.
