Cops launched a manhunt to nab three people who threw the corrosive substance on the boys.

Police in London launched a manhunt after three people who allegedly threw a corrosive substance on two boys at a London metro rail station. The British Transport Police (BTP) shared the images of the three people and said it wants to speak to them following the incident at the Elm Park Tube station on Saturday.

The boys required treatment and the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Four acid attacks were reported last month alone. In Clapham, an Afghan asylum seeker targeted a mother and two children using chemicals.

CCTV images released by the BTP showed two men, one of whom was wearing a black puffer jacket, as well as a black face covering and black baseball cap, and the other was seen wearing a black coat.

A woman was also pictured along with them. She was wearing a cream jacket, blue jeans and converse trainers, while also holding a green coat.

“Violence in any form will not be tolerated on the rail network and we would like to reassure the travelling public that our officers are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend those responsible,” police officer Marvin Bruno was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

This is the latest among the number of acid attacks reported in recent weeks. Four acid attacks have been reported in the south of England since the end of January.

The most dangerous of these attacks was the Clapham case where a mother and her two children were doused in a corrosive substance. Police said the mother’s injuries are life-changing and remains hospitalised.

A nationwide manhunt was launched to nab the suspect, Afghan asylum seeker Abdul Ezedi. Ezedi was later found dead in the River Thames.

After the Clapham incident, three attacks took place in a span of two days. A 52-year-old woman was left with burns on her back and head after a corrosive substance was hurled at her in a pub in Basingstoke. A man was attacked the next day with a ‘noxious substance’ in St Laurence Graveyard in Ramsgate, Kent.

Police were involved on the same day in a three-hour stand-off with an alleged ‘acid attacker’. The alleged ‘acid attacker’ seized a London bus and threatened the driver and passengers with an unknown substance.
