Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Asit Modi Assures That Dayaben Would Return Soon – News18

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which airs on SAB TV, has managed to entertain its viewers for over a decade. However, the show and its makers have been under the scanner for some time now. Audiences have been disappointed with it for a long time due to the absence of their favourite character, Dayaben. So much so that recently, the hashtag ‘Boycott TMKOC’ has been trending on social media. However, Asit Kumarr Modi has now finally spoken out about whether Dayaben will soon be back on the show or not.

In a short clip shared on the official Instagram handle of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Asit Modi assured the character of Dayaben will return soon and said, “Hum Daya Bhabhi ko Jald se Jald Gokuldham Society mein wapas le kar aayenge. Kuch paristhithi aisi bani ki hum Daya Bhabhi ko iss Deepavali ke avsar par Gokuldham society mein nahi la paaye. Bas ab kuch dino ki baat hai Daya Bhabhi Jald Aayengi (We will bring Daya Bhabhi back soon. Due to some circumstances, we couldn’t bring her back in Diwali but in a matter of few days, I promise you all that Daya Bhabhi will be back in Gokuldham Society soon).” He added that he is well aware that his audience is quite upset with him for the delay. But the maker mentioned that they value the love of their loyal viewers, and they aren’t playing with your emotions.

Disha Vakani, who played Daya Jethalal Gada, popularly known as Dayaben, in Asit Modi’s show, took an indefinite maternity leave in 2017 and has not returned since.

As reported by TellyChakkar, Asit Kumarr Modi recently issued a statement in which he clarified that TMKOC is not going off-air amid trends and negative reviews from its viewers. He stated, “I’m here to entertain my audience, and I will never lie to my viewers. Due to certain circumstances, we are unable to bring Daya’s character back on time. But that does not mean that the character is not going to enter the show at all! Whether it is Disha Vakani or someone else, the time will tell.” He further added that it was quite difficult to run a comedy show for about fifteen years and boasted that it has not seen a single leap so far.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was created and produced by Asit Kumarr Modi under the umbrella of Neela Film Productions Private Limited. The show celebrated its 15th anniversary in July 2023.
