The State Government was given permission by the Karnataka HC on March 22 to hold board exams for classes 5, 8, 9, and 11 for the 2023–2024 academic year

The Karnataka High Court’s ruling allowing the government to proceed with announcing the board exam results for Classes 5, 8, 9, and 11 has been stayed by the Supreme Court on April 8. The bench consisting of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal rendered this ruling.

Furthermore, the Court has mandated that the results of any school’s board exams be placed on hold and kept completely confidential. In addition, these findings must not to be disclosed until later if the students and parents haven’t already received them. Private schools, on the other hand, have disputed this, claiming that the Right to Education Act does not include a provision for board exams.

According to Live Law, the Karnataka High Court previously gave the state government permission to organise board exams and continue the suspended exams for classes 5, 8, and 9. They were also allowed to complete the evaluation of the class 11 tests. Notably, the board exams for grades 5, 8, and 9 were halted midway due to a High Court injunction. Students, parents, teachers, and educational institutions all experienced confusion and uncertainty as a consequence of this.

The State Government was given permission by the Karnataka High Court on March 22 to hold board exams for classes 5, 8, 9, and 11 for the 2023–2024 academic year. The decision was reached by a bench that included Justice K Somashekar and Justice Rajesh Rai K. This followed the filing of an appeal by the State Government contesting the previous decision.

The state administration had previously been given permission by the Karnataka High Court to hold board examinations for classes 5, 8, and 9. Later, the state government issued an order to start holding the board exams for pupils in the fifth, eighth, and ninth grades from on March 11. The examinations were scheduled to end on March 18.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEEB) has issued the answer key for the Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (SSLC), also known as Class 10, 2024. The Karnataka SSLC Exam was held between March 25 and April 6 and students who sat the exam can now get the subject-specific answer keys via the official website at kseeb.karnataka.gov.in.
