SHOCKING! Shailesh Lodha Claims He Left TMKOC Because of Asit Modi’s Language: ‘I Could Not Tolerate…’ – News18

Ever since Shailesh Lodha left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, he has levelled several allegations against the makers of the popular sitcom. In his recent interview, Lodha claimed that he left TMKOC because of Asit Kumarr Modi’s behaviour. Shailesh recalled he was invited for a stand-up show titled Good Night India on SAB TV in 2022 which left Asit Modi disappointed.

“I shot for it and even recited a poem there. A day before the telecast, Taarak Mehta’s producer called me asking how could I be on that show. And the language that he used was not civil, leaving me infuriated,” Lodha told Lallantop recalling the incident.

Shailesh Lodha further claimed that Asit Modi used inappropriate language with him and when he confronted the maker, Modi called everyone on the show his servants in a derogatory way. “I could not tolerate the way he spoke to me. A show is made by many people coming together and not just one person. I thus mailed him on February 17, 2022, that I would not like to continue with the show,” Lodha added.

Shailesh also alleged that even though he continued to shoot for TMKOC, his payments were being withheld. He argued that the makers even asked him to sign an agreement which he believed would limit his rights and therefore, he had to leave, “The matter was never about money or payment but about how he spoke in an insulting tone. I had to go to the court and the settlement was done,” Shailesh concluded.

Earlier this year, Shailesh Lodha won the legal suit against the show’s maker Asit Kumar Modi. Lodha had alleged non-payment of his dues. “This fight was never about the money. It was about seeking justice and self-respect. I feel like I have won a battle and I’m happy that the truth has prevailed,” Shailesh had said while speaking to E-Times.

Shailesh Lodha used to play the role of Taarak Mehta in the show. He was a part of the show ever since the beginning. However, he quit in April 2022. Lodha is replaced by Sachin Shroff in the show.
