Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) leader and former Union Minister Milind Deora strongly criticised political parties for commenting on Mumbai’s law and order in light of the shootout incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence.

Targetting the opposition, the former Congress leader stated that parties that are “unable to control internal gang wars” should refrain from making such comments.

“I’m shocked by the shootout outside @BeingSalmanKhan’s home. @MumbaiPolice is one of India’s most professional forces & I have full confidence in their thorough investigation. Parties unable to control internal gang wars should refrain from commenting on Mumbai’s law & order. Let’s not forget, #Mumbai hasn’t experienced a single terrorist attack in the last decade,” the former Congress leader wrote in a post on X Sunday.

On Sunday, two assailants on bikes fired shots outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence in the early hours. No one was injured, but a bullet was discovered inside the actor’s home gallery.

Opposition leaders from the INDIA alliance bloc reacted strongly to the incident, expressing concerns about Maharashtra’s law and order situation and questioning the absence of the Home Ministry.

Commenting on the firing incident, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Supriya Sule on Sunday said it reflects a “complete failure” of the Home Ministry.

“It’s a complete failure of the Home Ministry. We live in Pune and look what is happening here, it’s a very educated place where people live in peace and harmony, but here also, the crime has gone up. It’s not me making the allegations but the data given by the govt of India for Maharashtra,” Supriya Sule stated.
