Question marks have been raised over the futures of various players in the club including the likes of Christian Eriksen, Raphael Varane, Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof.

Eat, sleep, overhaul, repeat: this has been the story of Manchester United in recent years, as the Red Devils struggle to find any semblence of identity within the club.

Well, it seems like under the new era of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United are reportedly once again ready to embark on yet another overhaul this summer, with multiple players slated to exit the club.

United and INEOS Director Dave Brailsford have reportedly recognized a need to offload players from the squad to make cap space and make sure to not breach the sustainability rules.

There also exists a need to recognise what the club wants to inculcate and embody as their identity, in terms of their players, the style of play etc. and Jim Ratcliffe has been proactive about pursuing the same.

“Winning matches and trophies, that is what Manchester United is about”, Ratcliffe exclaimed.

“It’s the biggest, the greatest and the most well-known football club in the world”.

“We will decide the style of football, with the general manager, the sporting director and probably the recruitment managers, and it will be United’s style of football, and the manager will have to play that style.”

According to ESPN, as a part of his plans, question marks have been raised over the futures of various players in the club including the likes of Christian Eriksen, Raphael Varane, Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof.

United’s hunt for stability at the defensive line and their dire need for firepower up front has been the driving force behind the formulation of the proposed overhaul apparently.

With the likes of Rashford struggling to find his groove, and Rasmus Hojlund having to shoulder the goal-scoring road all by himself for the most part since the turn of the year, there is a pressing need for Erik Ten Hag’s side to figure out how to support the young Dane up front, whether it be through a newer style of play or by bringing in reinforcements.

The Red Devils currently stand sixth in the Premier League table with 44 points in 25 games, five points away from fourth, a spot to ensure UEFA Champions League qualification.
