Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday filed his nomination from the Wayanad constituency in Kerala for the April 26 Lok Sabha polls. Rahul Gandhi, along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other senior leaders held a roadshow from Kalpetta to Civil Station which was attended by thousands of party workers and supporters.

The Congress leader had registered a landslide victory from Wayanad in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with a margin of over 4 lakh votes.

Accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other senior leaders including AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, Rahul Gandhi submitted his nomination papers to the Wayanad District Collector Dr Renu Raj, who is also the Returning Officer.

According to the affidavit filed by the Congress leader while filing his nomination, Rahul Gandhi declared an income of Rs 1.02 crore for the Fiscal Year of 2022-23.

Rahul Gandhi’s Properties, Savings, Investments and Assets

  • Rahul Gandhi has Rs 55,000 in cash as of March 15, 2024, and Rs 26 lakh in bank account.
  • According to the affidavit, Gandhi gets his income from rent, MP salary, Royalty Income, Interest from Banks, Bonds, dividends and Capital gains from Mutual funds and shares.
  • He declared assets worth Rs 9.24 crore from equities, mutual funds, savings accounts, sovereign gold bonds, etc.
  • The Congress leader has invested Rs 4.33 crore in equity shares, and Rs 3.81 crore in Mutual Funds.
  • Rahul Gandhi also declared immovable property worth Rs 11.15 crore including commercial buildings, non-agricultural and agricultural land.

Elections will be held in all of Kerala’s 20 parliamentary constituencies on April 26, in the second phase. The last date for filing nomination papers for the second phase is April 4.
