Vladimir Putin has said Russia will ensure the security of its border regions in a meeting with activists on March 20. The Russian leader said the country had its own plans on how to respond to shelling from Ukraine but will not attack the population and civilian targets. “The primary task is to guarantee security,” he said in televised comments. “There are different methods here, they aren’t easy but we will do this”, the Russian leader added.
